PCT mile 2393-2402
Elev 4202-2968
5:30 came wet but clear, the sky was blue and the world was all washed clean. Although the bright lights in the night had made us think that aliens had landed, we were still alive and needed to hike miles to get out of the wet back country. Some water did get into my tent in the night but I'd found the problem, fixed it and slept some in between the rain and noise. Peggy was snug in her tent although damp from the moist air. We packed up and got on the trail knowing we had lots of ups and downs before getting out to the pass today. Lots of wet brush and overgrown trail, it felt humid as the sun warmed the air.
Clouds hovered over the trail above Snoqualmie Pass and we hiked in and out of them as we got closer.
I was really anxious to hike out today and see family, my brother and son were picking us up at the pass. We got off the trail around 11:30 and went right to the chevron station store to pick up our resupply boxes.
We were locating our boxes when I heard my name called, they had found us just as we had arrived!
We drove to Lake Sammamish where my brother, wife and daughter's family live. We showered, did laundry and Maggie, my sister-in-law, fed us for 2 days non stop! They chauffeured us to stores to repair and replace things broken and worn out. We enjoyed family time, rest and regroup time, computer time, food and more food! We can't thank you enough Alan, Maggie, Paul, Kurt, Geneva and sweet baby Charlotte for the fun, laughter and care you all gave us! Of course in the busyness I forgot a photo of my son, Paul, so this is a photo of a photo of him.
